Last night I uncapped the first bottle of home-brew I've ever done. Its a "special bitter" ale and tastes somewhat like "Red Hook". I continue to marvel at the fact that we are still having ridable weather at this late date in November. Last year at this time we had ice and snow. The bikes were in the barn. We led about two hundred riders on a short but scenic route yesterday then stopped at the Veterans Home to visit the vets for about an hour. Escorted The Moving Wall into town yesterday. I've just received word that my poem "The Need" will appear in the fall edition of Midnight Sun Rider, Alaska's motorcycle magazine. Yes, there are many motorcyclists in Alaska. The ride through Logan Canyon is a popular one with motorcyclists of al types from both Utah and Idaho. The road twists and turns along the Logan River andf spectacular scenery. I rode again with a group of riders that goes out almost every Thursday evening. A mixed bag of bikes, some Harleys, couple of Goldwings, Suzukis, a Yamaha or two. Mostly cruisers, but one "sport" bike in attendance. Fun to ride with these folks because they are all about the riding. The fellow who usually leads is 78 years old and purchased a brand new Ultra Glide last week. Stage One kit too.
