You leave Jackson on US89 south/US26 west. These roads will divide at Alpine. The road is good and twists and turns along the banks of the Snake River. Great riding...
...and the scenery is spectacular. Many turnouts to enjoy the scener too, but almost all on the river side of the road. The other side is often sheer cliffs, straight up.
You should take the opportunity to stop and enjoy the river; the sounds, sights and smells of this beautiful piece of America.
You'll often be able to watch fishermen landing cutthroat trout and Jackson is populated with numerous river outfitters offering Snake River floats. You can often see several pass by within minutes of each other.
(Not quite sure what I was trying to accomplish here except maybe show the quality of the road?)
